Input Journal

Pressing [Input Journal] button or F3 key from the main window can input a journal.

The Journal Number will be filled automatically. You can type the Date and press [Enter] key. For example, if the date is 31/12/2002, you can use Num Pad to input 13.12.2002 and press [Enter] key. Then you can input the Remark and press [Enter] key. Next, you can enter the A/C # (Account Number). This program provides a very user-friendly method to enter account number. The first method is use mouse to double-click an account from Account Category Page. For example, you can double-click 1210 Petty Cash account, The selected account will be filled in A/C # field, input the Description and press [Enter] key, input the Debit amount and press [Enter Key], then use mouse to select Revenue page, double-click the 4100 Sale Income, input the Description and press [Enter] key, just press [Enter] key in Debit field, the Credit amount will be filled automatically. You can enter a new amount if necessary or just press [Enter] key to use this amount.

It will be slow to use the first method to enter journal. When you are familiar the account number, you can use another method is to input the account number directly. For example, when you can input the '1' in the A/C # field, the Account Category Page will be changed to Asset page. After you type '12' in the A/C # field, 1210 Petty Cash will be highlight. If it is the account you want to use, you can press [Enter] key after typing '12' in the A/C # field and the program will select 1210 Petty Cash automatically. You can go on to input the account number and press [Enter] key. Then input the Description and Debit amount and press [Enter] key. When you input '4' in the second line of A/C # field, the Account Category Page will change to Revenue, when you type the account number, the highlight account will be changed automatically, when it is the highlight account you want to use, you can press [Enter] key and input the Description and Credit amount.

You can enter more than two entries in a journal. After finishing the input, you can press [Print] button to print the journal. Press [Save] button or F10 key to save the journal.

If you want to reuse the journal (e.g. electrical and telephone fee every month), before saving the journal, you can press [Save Sample] button to save the journal. You can use [Use Sample] button to open the journal in future. This can save you a lot of time to input.

Default the program provides you eight entries, if you need more entries, you can press [Add Line] button to create new lines.

Remark: You cannot save any journal which date is prior to the date in Year End.
